I Still Pray

Though the clouds remain dark
and the rains don’t deviate
the Winter speaks
of unchanging propriety
While the people cry
and the children die
I still pray

Whether you’re there or not
and I feel alone
Too scared to shout
or make a sound
I don’t feel anymore
or heal anymore
Yet I still pray

I’m not sure
where you are
and not sure
where I’m at
Though I do not hear
and neither do I see
I still pray

I still pray
though you answer not
I still pray
though you spare no thought for me
I still pray
though the doubts they rise
And I watch for the sunset
on a glorious chapter.

For when all is said
and done
My heart’s been lost
and won.
