Pathways and perpetuation

Held fast by an invisible moon
and starlight that no-one could see
He wandered with loneliness
into the quagmire of his own thoughts

With no hope of return,
no breadcrumbs to follow back,
no homing beacon set to home,
he followed his heart
to see where it would lead him

For once where the sun shone
now it was dark
tho’ he knew the path he walked
and so continued

Corners and mazes
pathways and perpetuation
of paths walked before;

Looking down a road one has walked
only shows one where they have come from
but not where they are going to.
