The necessity of me

Without me
I’m not me
Without me
I can’t see
Without me
I can’t be
Without me
I’m clearly
lost and fear
I’m nowhere near
where I’d like to be
so I can be just me
It’s plain to see
being stuck in a rut

I need my own hut
with a door I can shut
and keep the noise outside
while inside I hide
and abide
hands untied
and a piece of me
searching out peace for me
seeking out freedom, you see?
’cause I don’t.
