Corrupted love

Your eyes, they guide me home
like the white moon in the dark
Your words, like leaves of gold
they bring healing to my heart

Your love, it keeps me sane
in a world of self-destruct
I’ve nothing left to cling to
all I trusted is now corrupt

Your voice, it calms my senses
and drives away the pain
I’m left with no defences
and I’m myself again

Your touch, goes far within
the depths and cracks of my soul
Your hands in mine begin
the journey to make me whole

I wish there were only two
just me and only you
and nothing else existed
but only what was true

I’m tired so you fight
You fight for me all night
and I’m questioning: ‘is this right?’
and ‘when will dark be light?’

Your arms, they hold me fast
I sense that love is near
but how long it will last
is still my only fear.
