The plank in my eye

A feeling
a notion
an inkling
an ocean
a plum and strawberry pie

A belief
an opinion
a perception
dominion
and no-one will question why

We trod and we plod
we grow and we shrink
we’re powerful and powerless the same
We believe
we cry out
we receive
more of doubt
when conversations are only a game

The truth
it unfolds
‘fore our eyes
we are told
and we’re blind somehow to the light
A speck in your eye
a plank lodged in mine
and somehow nothing is right

I’m tired of the game
no longer the same
don’t know what’s mine anymore
It’s you who I’ll blame
when I’m no longer sane
and lost complete count of the score
